Episode 009: Digit Wrestling

 Nasty Nash

Nasty Nash

We all grew up thumb wrestling, right?  Did you ever consider wrestling with your second strongest digit - the big toe? Yes!  It’s a thing! And on this episode we cover both these amazing competitions.

First off, that bit about the toe being the second strongest digit is a total fabrication.  It may be, but we here at RoShamBo podcast are too busy to look it up.

With that out of the way, welcome to a very special, two-for-one edition of RoShamBo where we delve into Digit Wrestling - a name we totally fabricated.  The competitions, though, are real.

We kick it off by jumping feet first into the world of toe wrestling!  The quintessentially odd British sport’s history and rules are explained by Wendy Livingstone, the Event Coordinator for the Toe Wrestling championships held every year at the Bentley Brook Inn, in Fenny Bentley.

Next, Wendy introduces us to 14 time World Champion Toe Wrestler Allan “Nasty” Nash.  He’s got the strongest toes in the world, holds at least one Guiness World record AND other hidden talents.  He’ll give us the low down on the competition and the competitors.

After Nasty, we’re hopping over to the World Thumb Wrestling Championships!  We’ll meet Paul Browse the current World Thumb Wrestling Champion.  In addition to having the best thumbs in the world, he’s a pretty great guy who shares a special place in history with his wife.

All this and more on Digit Wrestling!
